Jorge Arce wins WBA interim belt
September 15, 2008 by Edgar Gonzalez
Mexican superstar Jorge “Travieso” Arce (50-4-1, 38 KOs) became a three-division world champion on Monday night by stopping reigning titleholder Rafael “Torito” Concepcion (11-3-1, 7 KOs) in round nine for the WBA interim super flyweight belt at the Arena Mexico in Mexico City. Arce methodically ramped up the punishment as the bout progressed and Concepcion failed to come out for round nine.
In a WBA super featherweight eliminator, Jorge “Coloradito” Solís (36-1-2, 26 KOs) battered Jorge Samudio (17-4-1, 7 KOs), getting fourth round TKO.

I watched the fight ,thought it was a good fight…close until Arce turned the heat up in later rounds!! Rafael “Torito” Concepcion wasn’t going out though..he was fighting his fight just came up short.
All I can say is Arce won this fight by pure heart, he was out on his feet a few times and somehow by pure will managed to not go down and come back to win the fight. Very entertaining, it reminded me of Gatti vs Ward.
And if you haven’t seen the Gatti vs Ward “wars” you are really missing out.
