Andrey Tsurkan (26-3, 17 KOs) who weighed in yesterday at a ripped 153.75 lbs., says he’s ready for a war tonight against Alfredo Angulo (13-0, 10 KOs) who weighed in at 154, tonight in their 10-round jr. middleweight contest at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, CA. The card is being broadcast live on HBO’s Boxing After Dark. The Tsurkan vs. Angulo fight will be the co- feature to that evenings spectacular triple header. In the opening bout of the night Sergio Martinez (43-1-1, 23KO) takes on Alex Bunema (30-5-2, 16KO) for the interim version of the WBC’s jr. middleweight title. In the main event of the evening Yuriokis Gamboa (11-0, 9KO) battles Marcos Ramirez (25-0, 16KO) in a ten round contest of undefeated featherweights.

Tsurkan who is known for his intense conditioning looked to be in excellent shape and was very calm and confident following the weigh-in. “I’m ready to go. I am very confident going into this fight. This guy is not better than me. This guy has not trained harder than me. This guy has not fought the same level of competition as me. He is not superman, he is Angulo, so what. I know he has been talking a lot but the talking stops tomorrow night. He better be prepared for a war, because I know I am,” stated a focused Tsurkan.

Tickets are still on sale and could be purchased at $150, $100, and $50. For tickets and information, call the Pechanga Resort & Casino at 1-877-711-2WIN. Doors open at 5PM, with first bell scheduled at 6PM local time.HBO will televise the tripleheader at 10:05PM ET/PT

IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham’s mandatory defense against Raul Marquez has been postponed after King Arthur woke up today with a fever, swollen lymph nodes and the typical complaints of a cold. He was immediately brought to the Erlangen University Hospital where ring physician Dr. Walter Wagner and a local specialist diagnosed a flu virus. The sad consequence is tonight’s entire card has been postponed until November 8th. “I am incredibly sorry for my fans,” said Abraham. “I wanted to fight, but in this physical condition, I can’t climb into the ring. The doctors have forbidden me.” Trainer Ulli Wegner added, “There is no way he can make a mandatory title defense in his current state. It is a pity but there is nothing we can do. I am very sorry for the fans. We’ll try to get Arthur healthy again as soon as possible and will prepare him for the fight on November 8.” Tickets for tonight’s postponed card at the Jako Arena in Bamberg, Germany will be valid for the new date.
