When Samuel Peter and Vitali Klitschko fight for the WBC world heavyweight championship on Saturday in Berlin, a possible future champion will make his appearance on the undercard. Heavyweight Odlanier Solis (11-0, 7 KOs) will face Chauncy Welliver (35-4-5, 12 KOs). “Welliver has never been knocked out before in more than 40 pro fights,” stated Solis’ promoter Ahmet Öner. “This is a chance for Odlanier to prove that he is a real knockouter.” The bout will be for the vacant WBC international belt, relinquished by “Black Panther” Juan Carlos Gomez before his final elimination win over Vladimir Virchis on September 27th. The unbeaten Solis was a gold medalist in the 2004 Olympics.
