Today was the weigh in for the Mosley vs. Margarito fight at Staples Center tomorrow night on HBO at 7 pm on the West Coast. This fight is big, really big for LA. Staples Center is sold out so that means around 20,000 people will watch this fight live. On a rainy Friday, both fighters came for the final step, their respective weights. Both fighters looked good as expected and Shane Mosley took to the scale first. Mosley came in at 147 even and then he did it again and got 147.2. Margarito was 145.8 after some difficulty getting the situation perfect for both sides. So, Shane was at weight and then made to weigh in again so he could make the 147 lb limit. Folks, I wrote this live so I am not sure about all the controversy but it sure looks like a great fight and both combatants are ready to go.
Margarito said “this is like my house” referring to Staples and said Shane needs to make weight and “that is his problem”.
Mosley needed to lose .2 of a pound for the fight to be a title fight. Mosley had 2 hours to lose this fraction of a pound and after about 20 minutes he came back at 147 even.
Mosley said “I thought I had it even but you know, obviously I didn’t check it right. I am ready to go.”
Time for talk and posturing is over, let’s get it on.

If somehow Margarito loses it’s because Mosley is on Steroids!

I’m changing my mind on the KO, I think Margarito wins by Decision, I hope it’s by KO but I think Shane will keep his “never touched the canvas” record intact.

It took him about 5 minutes to come back and weigh in a second time and it looked like he went running for those 5 mins.
Personally I think this is disrespectful to all of the fans and to Margarito, Mosley couldn’t make weight…….LOL I’m just joking they both look sharp, the weigh in issue wasn’t much, maybe a calibration issue with the scale, maybe not, but it’s all set now, let the battle begin!
