See champs of the future at upcoming boxing show

flyer01Now is your chance to see the prizefighters of tomorrow at the “2009 Gold Rush” Amateur Boxing Show! The action-packed evening will take place NEXT FRIDAY, March 6 at the El Monte Expo Center in El Monte, California.

You will see a “gold mine” of talented young fighters compete in this USA Boxing-sanctioned show hosted by Steve Harpst Bronzes, Jarhead Entertainment and Adolfo Perez Jr.
Future Golden Gloves Champs and Olympians will continue their quest for glory, and you get a golden opportunity to watch the shining, bright hopefuls of all ages square off in the ring and have their hands raised in victory.

The show features 12 bouts of action, special entertainment, surprise celebrity guests and fighters, a fundraising raffle and more, with onsite refreshments available. Some of the best amateur prospects will be goin’ for the gold–don’t miss out on seeing their dreams come true as you help support the local area boxing clubs in attendance.

“This is a community event. We wanted to offer reasonable ticket prices so that everyone can come out and see a great night of amateur boxing,” says Co-promoter Steve Harpst, founder and trainer of the Burbank Boxing Club. “We’re really excited to be able to showcase some of L.A.’s top amateur fighters.”

The ultimate goal of many amateur boxers is to compete in the Olympic Games. Oscar De La Hoya, Mando Muñiz, Paul Gonzales, Fernando Vargas are just a few Southern California boxers who competed in the Olympics and went on to have successful careers in the sport of boxing, winning championship belts and titles. One of L.A.’s most recent amateur stars is Shawn Estrada. After competing in the 2008 Olympics, he is now fighting professional with a 2-0 record (2 KOs) and is certainly one to watch.

At the “2009 Gold Rush” show, you’ll see some highly-decorated standouts of today. And when they become boxing’s superstars of tomorrow, you will be able to tell everybody that you saw them first!
