According to Thomas Hauser of MaxBoxing.com, former pound for pound king and five division champion Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. will be returning from his self imposed exiled from boxing on July 11th.
Al Haymon, Mayweather Jr.’s advisor, has stated that “Money” would like to challenge the winner of the Pacquiao-Hatton super fight happening on May 2nd but first would like a tune up on HBO’s World Championship Boxing.
Golden Boy Promotions along with Main Events have offered the cable network an IBF cruiseweight title bout between Thomas Adamek and Bernard Hopkings, but HBO is in a holding pattern regarding the date.
Although Mayweather Jr. would like to appear on regular cable and not PPV, it is rumored that he is asking for a PPV type payday.
