With 10 days to go for his next fight, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is just about ready take on undefeated Luciano Cuello of Argentina in the main event of “Tijuana Thunder” the big championship pay per view card slated for Saturday, March 28 in the Plaza de Toros Monumental in Tijuana. “I’m really looking forward to this fight and to be the headliner in a card in Tijuana, a city I consider my second home. I’m training very hard because in Tijuana I want to show everyone that I’m ready to fight for a world championship and I just can’t wait to get into the ring to prove to everyone how ready I am to take the next step,” said Chavez Jr from his camp in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico.
Chávez Jr (39-0-1, 29 KOs) and Cuello (23-0, 10 KOs) will battle for the Latino Jr Middleweight crown in “Latin Fury 8” a championship card promoted by Top Rank, Promociones Zanfer in association with the City of Tijuana and its Honorable Mayor Jorge Ramos.
The card will include two world championship bouts as WBC Super Featherweight champion Humberto “Zorrita” Soto will defend his title for the first time against Antonio Davis of Atlanta and Fernando “Cochulito” Montiel will take on Diego Silva of Argentina for the WBO Interim Super flyweight belt.
Chávez Jr is training in Culiacan in the “Mr. KO” gym that is owned by his father. He is training under the watchful eyes of his uncles Rodolfo Chavez and Miguel “Maikol” Molleda.
Chávez Jr, 23, has being training for nearly seven weeks for this very important fight.
“The surgery I had in my right hand in December was a complete success. I feel no pain and have been working the heavy bag with no discomfort at all. My sparring has also been good and I had no trouble landing hard shots and feeling no affect,” said Chavez Jr.
He has been sparring with local fighters Rogelio “Porky” Medina, Carlos “Parrita” Parra and from Mexico City, Adrian Acuña.
“I will be at 100% for my fight against Cuello in Tijuana. I have not seen too much of him, but he looks like a difficult opponent with an awkward style and he seem to throw a lot of punches. Like I said, I will be ready for anything and everything from Cuello,” said Chavez Jr.

Well I t looks like this fight will take place @ El FORO the bull ring (used to be called Jai Alai) in Avenida Revolucion.
