Time Magazine has released their fifth annual list of the world’s most influential people from Oprah Winfrey and Miley Cyrus to Manny Pacquiao.
The Filipino prizefighter – better known as “Pac-Man” – stunned the boxing world in December by defeating Oscar De La Hoya. He’s readying a move into politics, where his popularity should land him another knockout. Pacquiao’s bouts are so heavily viewed in the Philippines, the crime rate goes down when he brawls.
The respected magazine has listed 100 finalists on their website and readers can vote for their choice. As of today, Pacman was rated #12, one spot behind President Obama and above California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Even though the Filipino boxing superstar was to good to sign an autograph boxing glove for me (true story), I have to admit Manny Pacquiao is a well-known boxer who has earned his spot as an influential person in the world.
