Oscar De La Hoya and Miguel Cotto played a friendly game of golf in the majestic Bahia Beach Resort & golf club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico this pass week. “It was very casual and fun meeting between us in which we only played golf. expires at the end of the year and is no secret Oscar De La Hoya is interested in signing the Puerto Rican superstar with his promotional company.
Cotto did state he wants to explore his options once his contract with Top Rank expired. Not sure exactly what De La Hoya told Miguel Cotto but now Cotto doesn’t want to fight Manny Pacquiao at 143lbs, Cotto wants 145lbs.
The Filipino boxing sensation is now looking at the possibility of accepting the challenge of Shane Mosley. Pacquiao’s lawyer Jeng Gacal said the Filipino boxer is now considering the option of battling Mosley at a catchweight of 143. In one of his few guest appearances with the daily morning “Sports Chat” Mosley once said he is willing to meet Pacquiao halfway, possibly at a catch weight of 144. Cotto meanwhile remains steadfast with his preferred weight. Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach previously told “Sports Chat” that he prefers to have Cotto as Pacquiao’s next opponent and that a bout with Mosley may only be possible if the American agrees to move down to 143. Only recently though Mosley decided to look for another opponent as Pacquiao’s camp kept on ignoring Mosley’s public challenge. Cotto is the holder of the World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight belt while Mosley currently owns the more established World Boxing Association (WBA) strap.

It’s Pacquiao’s managers that are scared of fighting Cotto at 145lbs. Cotto is not 140 pound fighter anymore. A fight between Mosely and pacquiao will not draw as many fans than a fight with Cotto vs pacman

This fight is really not confirmed, they still say its penciled, for whatever reason.
The question we all should be asking is, does Cotto even want to fight Pacquaio? We just don’t know, and even if he does, how much money is

Either way its going too be a great fight regardless, still wish it was Mosley and Pacquaio but thats going too be highly unlikely. But its all good, any fight will be great.
145 LBS. PACQAUIO JUST WANTS COTTO TO COME DRAINED TO THE FIGHT LIKE DLH DID. PACQAIO’S NEXT OPPONET SHOULD BE COTTO HE IS THE TOUGHER FIGHT. AND COTTO COULD SIGN WITH GOLDEN BOY PROMOTIONS IT COULD MEAN MUCH HIGHER PAYDAYS, AND POSSIBLY A FIGHT WITH MAYWETHER.
