Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, has been headlining his own boxing cards in Mexico and the United States over the last few years but on November 14 he will be the main supporting bout in “Firepower” the big championship card promoted by Top Rank to be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. “This is a big opportunity for me. To be part of such a big event will be very important for my career and I will try to give the fans a good and exciting fight as I can,” Chavez Jr from Culiacan where he training for this fight. Chavez Jr will take on Troy Rowland of Grand Rapids, Michigan on a 10 round middleweight bout.

“I have seen a little tape of Rowland. He is a big strong guy and I will need to be at my best to win this fight. That why I’m training so hard to be ready for this fight,” said Chavez Jr.

Chavez Jr, is training at home under the tutelage of his uncles Rodolfo Chavez and Miguell Molleda and his favorite mitts man Bladimir Baldenebro.

“We stayed at home at to train because the weather is nice and hot right now. No reason to go somewhere else where the weather is not as good and might interfere with my preparation,” said Chavez jr.

Chavez Jr. is coming of a big knockout victory on September 12 over Jason Lehoullier in Tepic, Mexico.

“I was happy with the win, because it showed my power. I had being going the distance lately and I need a win like that for all my fans who continue to support me”, said Chavez Jr.

About the big fight on November 14 he said:

“I feel that it will a great fight and that the fans will real enjoy. Its an even fight, but if I had to pick I would say Cotto because his fighting in his natural weight, but the fans will be the winner as they will surely see a fight to remember for a long time.”
