Due to the bad weather experienced in Baguio, PI, Manny Pacquaio has asked for asylum from Gerry Penalosa and his gym in Manila.
The Filipino superstar will spend several days in Manila before traveling to Los Angeles, CA, along with Freddie Roach where he will finish up his training camp for his mega fight against Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto.
Roach stated to the local press that Pacquaio has sparred fifty-five rounds and will sparr 105 more before closing up camp for “Firepower” being held on November 14th at the MGM in Las Vegas, NV.
Pacquiao has been sparring with up and comer junior welterweight Shawn Porter and former two time world lightweight champion Jose Luis Castillo.
“Every time he is stronger,” Poter stated about Pacquiao.
Roach also mentioned that he is very happy with how training has been coming along and he finds it hard to believe that Cotto will be able to survive the storm that is brewing. He did warn that he expects a tough physical fight and because of that he has changed up the type of sparring partners in camp.
This week Pacquiao will be sparring for ten rounds and by the next stepping it up to twelve.
