Top Rank President Todd duBoef was quoted saying that Bob Arum is finalizing a deal for 36 dates with Fox Sports en Espanol and sister network Fox Sports Net in 2010 which would air live at 10 p.m. ET on Saturday nights.

The January 16, 2010 premiere will take place at the Hard rock in Las Vegas and will feature former welterweight champion Joshua Clottey against Michel Rosales. Several fights are already scheduled, on January 30 Jorge Arce will face Indonesia’s Angky Angkota, on Feb.6 lightweight prospects Brandon Rios and Jorge Teron will meet and on the Feb. 20 show, it is expected to feature former junior welterweight titlist Kendall Holt, who hasn’t fought since losing his belt to Tim Bradley in an April unification bout.

Holt could be in a title eliminator with the right to challenge titleholder Juan Urango at stake. From the looks of the lineup so far, 2010 looks great for all boxing fans and with the cancellation of Solo Boxeo, Wednesday Night Fights and Versus Fight Night, Top Rank is definitely making an effort to keep boxing alive.

looks like Pacquiao could be facing Yuri Foreman, the current WBA jr. middleweight titlist. Which was news to Golden Boy CEO, Richard Schaefer, who told Maxboxing.com at around 4:15 pm,” That’s what I’m hearing, but again, Bruce Binkow and Todd DuBoef are still having conversations. So I’m hearing these things. Supposedly Bob( Arum) mentioned it to Robert Morales and to Dan Rafael, that they are going to go with Yuri Foreman.” read the full story Say it ain’t so.

WBA middleweight world champion Felix Sturm has signed a ten fight deal with Ufa Sports according to BILD. The pact will cover ten fights over the next three to four years and be worth $20 million Euros. The first fight is scheduled for Spring 2010. Univerum Box-Promotion, however, maintains that it has options on Sturm until 2012 so a legal battle will likely occur before Sturm can return to the ring.

Pacquiao files defamation lawsuit against Mayweathers and Golden Boy

On Wednesday Manny Pacquiao filed a lawsuit in Nevada federal court against Floyd Mayweather, Jr., Floyd Mayweather, Sr., Roger Mayweather, Mayweather Promotions, LLC, and Golden Boy Promotions executives Oscar de la Hoya, and Richard Schaefer for allegedly making false and defamatory statements accusing Pacquiao of taking performance-enhancing drugs, and seeks compensatory and punitive damages for defendants’ wrongful conduct.

Pacquiao’s attorney, Dan Petrocelli, said his client could be out millions of dollars if boxing fans believe he used steroids or human growth hormone to win titles in seven weight classes.

“The damage to his reputation and lost business opportunities could be in the tens of millions of dollars,” stated Daniel Petrocelli of the Los Angeles-based law firm of O’Melveny & Myers LLP.

Pacquiao claimed in the suit that he has never tested positive for any performance-enhancing drugs, but that Mayweather, his father and uncle, Oscar De La Hoya and Golden Boy Promotions chief Richard Schaefer embarked on a campaign to make people think he used drugs.

The undefeated jr. welterweight champion of the world Timothy Bradley states that he is ready to take the place of either Floyd Mayweather Jr. or Manny Pacquiao on March 13th in case the mega fight between the two cannot be realized.

“Timothy would be more than happy to defend his title or go up in weight to challenger either Pacquaio or Mayweather, if their fight can’t be made,” Bradley’s co-promoter Gary Shaw declared.

“There is no other champion that has had more TV exposure than Timothy. Since he won his first title, he has proven that he is one of the best,” Shaw continued. “The destruccion of the prior undefeated interim champion Lamont Peterson earlier this month proves that Timothy is an elite fighter and one of the top ten pound for pound fighters. He is ready, willing and able to fill the void.”

It has been rumoured that the Marquez-Hatton bout will be above the 135 lbs. weight limit and therefore his WBO title will not be at stake. Marquez also holds the WBA title.

Katsidis earned the interim version of the title when he defeated Vicente Escobedo last September in Las Vegas, NV.
