Surrounded by reporters and photographers as he arrived to Mexico City earlier this week, Indonesian super flyweight Anky Angkota stated that he didn’t see anything special in his next opponent, Jorge “Travieso” Arce.

“I’ve seen many of his fights on video and the truth is, I’m not really impressed,” he stated.

Angkota wil be facing Arce this Saturday night for the vacant WBO super flyweight title.

“Arce is an aggresive fighter who is always coming forward, throwing punches,” the Indonesian stated. “He likes to put on a lot of pressure in his fights. I like those type of opponents, they are the ones that I do best against.”

Angokota seemed relaxed and fresh as he was accompanied by his team of Frankie Angkota, Willy Tuhumury, Pino Jeffta, Victure Van Room and Gabriela Talita.

“I expect a tough fight because Arce likes to fight. I hope to box him and give as good as he does, Angkota said through an interpreter.

Angkota, 28, added that he was ready to become a world champion. Angkota holds a record of 23-4, 14KO.

“It is logical that the local press and the Mexican fans don’t see me winning but remember this, I will retire Arce on Saturday night,” Angkota said confidently. “He has nothing else to give boxing, he is done and I will take the title back to my country.”

“We are ready, it is now or never, I will do my talking in the ring,” Arce stated in his defense. “I will leave everything in the ring, I want to leave boxing as a champion and that is how it will be. I am almost at weight.”
