Khan-Maidana Set for April 17th!

The unification title fight between jr. welterweight WBA champion Amir Khan and the interim champ Marcos “Chino” Maidana of Argentina will take place on Saturday April 17, 2010, at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, NV.

Golden Boy Promotions, who recently singed a promotional contract with Khan of England, will be the promoter on record.

The Khan-Maidana bout will be the semi main-event of Bernard Hopkins vs. Roy Jones Jr. II and will be televised by HBO PPV.

Because Golden Boy Promotions and Maidana’s manager Mario Margossian were able to reach and agreement regarding the purse, the bout did not have to go to a planned WBA purse bid that was scheduled for today in Panama.

Guy has skills, is coming back from a huge KO lost last year and seems to be doing well, haven’t really seem much of him, I remember the Barrera fight, he didn’t really proved anything there, (old pre-cut Barrera), but we’ll see how he does this year.
