The return of the “Tijuana Tornado” will be fitting to his pre-controversy career as Antonio Margarito will take part of the star-studded March 13th fight card held at Cowboy Stadium in Dallas, TX, headlined by Filipino sensation Manny Pacquiao facing Joshua Clottey of Ghana.

Margarito first must secure the reinstatement of his boxing license after its suspension last year when he was found utilizing illegal hand wraps prior to his bout with Shane Mosley. Margarito lost the bout along with his WBA welterweight title.

Margarito’s (37-6, 27KO) proposed opponent for his imminent return will be 23-year-old Carson Jones (24-7-1, 15KO) who has vowed to punish Margarito for his previous transgression.

Bob Arum, founder and president of Top Rank Promotions, announced that Margarito will take part of the fight card in the semi main event of the night.

Michael Marley of theexaminer.com reported that Margarito would begin training this week for the fight with his new trainer, former IBF super featherweight champion Robert Garcia in Oxnard, CA. Garcia currently trains the recently defeated Steven Luevano and Brian Viloria as well as his undefeated younger brother, “Mikey” Garcia.
