It was reported by Mexican newspaper Esto that three divisional world champion Erik “Terrible” Morales is currently training in the Otomi Mountains in central Mexico in preparation for his proposed bout against former WBA lightweight champion Jose Alfaro of Nicaragua. The fight is rumored to take place some time in March and it will be promoted by Morales’ own company, Box Latino which is run by his brother Diego “Pelucho” Morales.
Morales is concentrating on losing weight since he has been reported to be tipping the scales somewhere in the heavyweight division. His next bout is slated to be at a catch weight of 142 lbs.
Morales has not fought since 2007 when he dropped a decision to David Diaz in Chicago for the WBC lightweight title. No city has been named for the return of Morales but is rumored that his native city of Tijuana is in the running.

He should stay retired, has fought great battles, future hall of famer, one of the best in history, not sure what more he can accomplish, he’s not the same he used to be and he hasn’t stayed in the gym or taken care of his body what so ever. I can understand the mind plays tricks and he wants to be back in the ring winning but he’s not getting any younger and has endure big punishment on those great battles.
I might be in town on that date so I would go watch the fight, I just hope he doesn’t get hurt, I read they are talking about a 6 fight deal, at 33 that is way to much for this warrior.
