Golden Boy Promotions announced that the bout between former super bantamweight champion Daniel Ponce De Leon (37-2, 31KO) and the undefeated Daud Yordan (25-0, 19KO) for the interim WBA featherweight title is still on but it will not take place on the undercard of Shane Mosley-Andre Berto unification bout being held on January 30th in Las Vegas, NV.

Oscar De La Hoya, President of Golden Boy Promotions, stated that they are in talks to hold the Ponce De Leon-Yordan bout in Mexico City or in another Mexican city. No new date was given.

A series of intriguing undercard match-ups supporting the big January 30 welterweight championship showdown Two of the junior welterweight division’s most devastating punchers – undefeated Lucas Matthysse (25-0, 23 KOs) and former world champion Vivian Harris (29-3-1, 19 KOs) – collide in a bout not likely to last the scheduled 10 rounds. An IBF light heavyweight world title shot will be on the line when Yusaf Mack (28-2-2, 17 KOs) clashes with former world champion Glen “The Road Warrior” Johnson (49-13-2, 33 KOs) in a 12-round elimination bout. Plus, adding to the number of former title holders on the card will be former 154-pound world champion Sergio “The Latin Snake” Mora (21-1-1, 5 KOs), who makes his Golden Boy Promotions debut in a 10-round bout against the always tough Jason Naugler (18-11-1, 11 KOs).

  1. Can’t wait for this one, lets see of Mosley still has it, it should be a very entertaining fight, the surprise here is that maybe the younger Berto here could be the one running out empty in the later rounds. Mosley always comes to fight and this one should be fireworks!
