Once again the three time world champion Erik “Terrible” Morales is talking about returning to boxing in March. I am huge fan of Morales but it’s becoming annoying every time I hear talks about him coming back so you either come back or stop spreading rumors.

This picture was taken in September 5, 2009 during a Tijuana boxing event and by the looks of it, Morales is not near in shape or form to fight.

In case you don’t recognize “El Terrible”, he’s wearing the blue shirt and hat. Morales mentioned that as a comeback rival he would like to face Jose Alfaro of Nicaragua who in his last bout came up short against Antonio DeMarco for the interim WBC lightweight title in November of last year. He’s also planning on making his comeback on a fight card that his company, Box Latino, will organize.

Alfaro’s managers have been contacted, who are led by Silvio Conrado Jr., and he is hoping for a response soon so that he can begin his training. The bout might be at a catch weight of 142 lbs.

Morales has not fought since 2008 when he was defeated by David Diaz in a lightweight bout.

  1. I’ve always been a great fan of El Terrible! but he should stay retired, I would love to be able to watch the old Morales back, but even if he actually comes back this time, it wont be the same one in the ring, history tells us that in boxing, comebacks don’t usually end well, and after almost 3 years of inactivity and not in the best of shapes I think he has nothing else to prove, he proved to be one of the best champions Mexico and the world has ever had and a future hall of famer.

I still enjoy to watch the trilogy he had with Barrera and many of his other great fights, no need for anything more.
You will always be the champ!
