Earlier this week, former world champion Roberto “Hands of Stone” Duran, submitted himself to a successful nose operation in his native Panama.
The operation was to fix a dislocation that prevented him from breathing normally.
Eduardo Franco, the doctor who operated on Duran, said that the operation was a success although somewhat difficult because of the tough cartilage that the ex boxer has.
he also stated that soon, Duran would be able to breath much easier and the operation would also help with his blood pressure.
According to Felicidad de Duran, the former world champion’s wife, Duran suffered from this condition since he was 14-years-old but only recently was it bad enough for him to need an operation.
Duran now finds himself at home recuperating from the operation after a hospital stay of only one day.
“I am fine, I am now home resting. I had to get this done since I was having problem breathing,” “Hands of Stone” stated.
