James Toney just switched from boxing to MMA and now Kimbo Slice, a former backyard brawler and MMA fighter, has decided to join the sweet science. Only if it wasn’t so but Gary Shaw has signed the over grown gorilla to debut sometime between October and December.
Shaw previously promoted Slice when he ran the now defunct MMA promotion Elite XC.
“He could easily be at the same level as the guys the Klitschkos have been fighting,” said Shaw. “Maybe I’m wrong, maybe he’s coming to boxing too late but I don’t think so. He’s not a beaten-up athlete. He’s a natural with that bob and weave like Mike Tyson.”
Alfredo Angulo’s trainer, Clemente Medina will be cross training this yahoo. If Kimbo couldn’t do well in MMA with 4oz. gloves, how is he going to do it in boxing?
I don’t know about you but we already got a 7-foot Russian giant, we don’t need to start a freak show.
easy anser. kimbo slice is a stand up fighter. if u watched all his street fighting videos you would notice that it was strictly standup no mma style street videos. i am a mma fighter ma self (2-0 2 ko’s) i kno certainly that kimbo slice is no mma fighter but his stand up is empressive and he does have effective striking and good head movement so we will c wat happens
why does no one do anything with the WORLD BOXING HALL OF FAME what the hell are they playing at.
Kimbo gets an A for effort but he might want to check wwe not boxing. He cant hang for three rounds in ufc. how does he plan to last 12 rounds? I’m sure he can pummle and bully some of those lower ranked fighters but I dont see him becoming champ. He got knocked out with 1 punch in the first round by a guy half his size. How could he take 12rds. of Klitschkos punishment? Arreola will make short work of kimbo even if he is out of shape.

Kimbo vs. Arreola would be great but even if you are slightly famous as he is he should not be given a free pass for a big fight he should climb the ladder others have. but at the same time heavyweight boxing is weak right now so he should have his way fighting b level fighters (which is most of the heavyweight divison anyway) and he can make a couple of entertaining fights. Just do not put this guy on ppv.
Just awful he is old and just a street fighter to challenge in boxing at late 30s is just a ploy for money and I wouldnt mind seeing him demolished by a Klits.
what a disgrace the WBHF have let themselves down but more importantly they have let the fans down, they have given us false information, and should be ashamed, people have spent lots of money on flights from australia and england, and now have to go to vegas or lose their money.

Kimbo needs to go up the ladder just like any other boxer .Maybe he thinks that whatever he has accomplished in the UFC ,which is nothing will give him the prerogative to choose any opponent he desires.
Incidentally,Arreola will pummel Kimbo’s face unremittingly.
