WBO junior featherweight champion Wilfredo Vazquez, Jr. (20-0-1, 17 KOs), of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, in his Las Vegas debut, will be making his third title defense, against five-time world champion Jorge Arce (56-6-2, 43 KOs), of Los Mochis, México as part of The Pacquiao vs. Mosley pay-per-view undercard.

“It’s always special thrill when you take on a Puerto Rican boxer, and Vazquez Jr. is a good one. He is undefeated, young, strong, but I have the experience and the courage that will be needed to win this war,” stated Arce.

The televised undercard will also feature a 10-rounder between junior welterweights Mike Alvarado (29-0, 21 KOs) and Ray Narh (25-1, 21 KOs). Alvarado, of Denver, has won 11 of his past 13 fights by knockout, but he has seen sporadic action over the past couple of years because of stints in prison. Narh, of Ghana, has won 15 fights in a row.

They will open the telecast, which also includes the return of former middleweight champ Kelly Pavlik (36-2, 32 KOs) in his first bout in more than a year since losing the title to Sergio Martinez. Pavlik will face Alfonso Lopez (21-0, 16 KOs) in a super middleweight fight.

  1. WOW!! My congrats to Arce for his will to win. I thought that he would fall a little short although I recognized that Vazquez Jr had never faced a fighter of El Travieso’s quality and caliber. Congratulations from Puerto Rico to Mexico for obtaining their first FOUR WEIGHT CHAMPION. I’m glad that the honor of this great achievement fell upon Jorge “El Travieso” Arce, a very charismatic and favorite of all fans, Mexicans and non-Mexicans alike.

Let me not forget the young brave defending champion, “Papito” Vazquez Jr, for his willingness to lay it all on the line. He prove himself worthy and deserving of a rematch.

  2. Arce is a warrior but I think this division is too much for him to handle. Besides, he’s on my list of over-rated fighters. Who has he beaten ?
