Vanes Martirosyan (29-0 18 KOs) is working hard in training camp as he prepares for his June 4th fight against tough Mexican Saul Roman (34-8 29 KOs). The fight takes place on the undercard of the Julio Cesar Chavez Jr versus Sebastian Zbik middleweight championship bout at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The WBC junior middleweight silver belt will be at stake.

The Martirosyan-Roman tilt was originally scheduled to take place this Saturday but was rescheduled when Martirosyan missed a portion of training camp due to illness.

The rescheduling may be a blessing in disguise as Martirosyan will now fight at the Staples Center which is close to his Glendale, CA, home, “I was upset when I had to postpone the fight but when I am very happy that it was rescheduled for Staples Center. God has a plan and makes sure everything works out the way it is supposed to.”

The Armenian-born fighter feels the extra time to train will help him put on great performance in front of what is expected to be a packed house at the Staples Center.

“I have been training hard for this fight and I can’t wait to fight in front of my fans,” he said. “The fight is over a month away and I am already getting phone calls about tickets.”
