According to Miami-Dade Police Yuriorkis Gamboa was arrested for domestic violence and was booked on Thursday morning. Police say Gamboa’s wife, Denia Francisco, was accusing Gamboa of having an affair and the argument turned physical. When Denia wanted to walk away with her kids that’s when Gamboa grabbed her by the neck as she tried to leave.
Police say Denia doesn’t have serious injures besides redness and several scratches on her arms and neck. Gamboa admitted to police he tried to stop his wife from taking their son, and he was arrested.
“What happened is a personal matter,” said Gamboa’s attorney Tony Gonzalez. “We are sure that this incident will not affect the career of a boxer like him,” said Gonzalez. “It will make him stronger and turn him into a better person.”
I always said Gamboa reminded me of Mike Tyson for his aggression in the ring, now he defiantly resembles Mike Tyson. Tyson also beat up his wife.
