I will be the first to admit that I didn’t think Floyd will return to the ring any time soon. I was shocked when I got the news but I was more impressed when I was told he was fighting Victor Ortiz.
I know its not Manny Pacquiao as everybody hoped for but you have to give credit to Floyd Mayweather. When Floyd first came out of retirement to face Juan Manuel Marquez, that took some balls considering he was out of the game for two years. Aside from the ring rust, he was also taking on Marquez who had just stunned the boxing world with his impressive win over Juan Diaz.
I know there was some controversy over the weight limit but admit that you still though Marquez had a chance to beat Floyd cause of his aggressive style and his previous fight with Diaz.
Floyd has been out of the ring since May of 2010 and is going to fight a young blood that is also coming off a spectacular fight against Andre Berto. I mean, this guy needs a wheelbarrow for his balls.
Though I think Floyd Mayweather is going to kick the shit out of Victor Ortiz, you have to give him credit.
Take Sergio Martinez for example, before his fight with Paul Williams there where many fighters who were willing to fight him but after Martinez brutally knocked Paul Williams, NO ONE wants to fight him now, why? Because they saw what Martinez is capable of doing.
Floyd Mayweather could have fought some unknown name but instead he chose to fight Victor Ortiz who is the candidate for the fight of the year. I am too disappointed it is not Manny Pacquiao but it might be a step closer to making that fight a reality.
So instead of bashing on Floyd give him the proper credit he deserves.
Just revisiting but I got to say, Melvin I predicted Martinez would knock Williams out. If there is a rematch, Martinez will knock him out again.

I respect your opinion bro but there is nothing you said that i didnt expect someone to say or heard before and none of that makes what I said untrue. You see things from your perspective and thats fine but I’ve been a boxing fan all my life and I dont come to my conclusions lightly. I’ve watched floyd play his games his entire career, his father and uncle taught him that game and he has played it well but that doesnt make him “the greatest ever” as he likes to put it. That just makes him a good judge of opponents and maybe a good buisness man but not tge. I dont hate anyone I’m a lover baby lol and i used to like floyd untill I realized that hes just a good buisness man. Floyd is great in his own right but not like all the other greats of his time or before him, he just lacks the heart. there is no glory without risk, if everyone worried about being “good buisness men” they would all be undefeated like floyd. Any real fight fan knows that if there are to many undefeated fighters its because some of them havent been truly challenged, other wise you would have to call them all great and we all know thats not case. My comments arent assumptions but by your comments I can tell you’ve made some untrue assumptions about me, and thats fine cuz you dont know me but what I say about floyd and his antics are no assumptions because that is how he portays him self. So if floyd and his fans dont like the way ppl look at him and they want to say that thats not the real floyd hes just being a good buisness man. I’m done with all this Mayweather garbage. Floyd Lacks integrity, Character, and honor not to mention the true heart of a champion and his fans applaude him for it. What does that say about floyds fans? I sometimes think ppl forget what those words mean and what they say about a man. If some of you guys cant or wont see through this clown B/S your blind. This is a good article very enjoyable, I agree he’s not coming back against some guy we never heard of, he’s not fighting a guy coming off a draw and a loss and pushing 40. He’s fighting a legit WW coming off a big win. I think this is simply a very winnable fight for Floyd but Ortiz was counted out against Berto (heck I thought Berto was gonna win) but he won convincingly there he has the power to stun Mayweather and pull the trigger to finish the job unlike Mosley. Not to mention Ortiz is the #2 rated WW so I see no reason to trash talk this fight. I don’t care for the guy I’ve said plenty of times before but he’s simply gained some respect with me here and I will watch this fight.
Yes every fight is hard and different from another fight. At any given time anyone can win. That still does not take the fact away that Floyd has had pick this fight. Yes all fighters do it to a certain point, but not as bad as Floyd does. He didn’t choose Ortiz cause he is strong, young and a champ. Simply cause it fit perfect to Floyd’s style of fighting. Ortiz fight straight up and is there for the counter punching. Still Ortiz has a puncher chance of winning the fight.
I just hope that Ortiz’s manager is not trying to bring this potential up and coming star of boxing up to fast just like they did to Fernando Vargas.
I too dislike Floyd but do agree with Melvin that he is a smart business man when it comes to boxing. Do I hope he loses? Yes, I hope that Ortiz’s punchers chance knocks the crap out of Floyd.

To all Floyd fans ,Floyd has shown courage for taking this fight .But when it comes to Manny there is no chance that Floyd can win .
Manny will play with Floyd like a kid .you will see Floyd’s head snapping back and forth .
Manny is an unbeatable fighter at the current time .Noone can beat the Pac man .Pac man is a unique fighter in this era and noone will beat him .Sorry Floyd fans ,but this is the truth and you know it .

I would like to believed what Freddie Roach said that Floyd is prepping for Manny. But if Floyd will lost to Ortiz, there’s no way he will fight Manny. So just hope Ortiz can’t deck Floyd’s ass on canvass. Floyd might be wrong at picking someone at this time. Anyway, everything is possible at this time.
