Tickets for Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez Are out of Control

Manny Pacquiao is scheduled to fight Nov. 12 against rival Juan Manuel Marquez, against whom he is 1-0-1 in two controversial decisions, at the 17,000-seat MGM Grand. But seeing the fight live is going to cost you an arm and a leg.

Tickets to the rubber match won’t be available until the first week of August but Bob Arum said the price for Floor tickets will retail at $1,200, while nosebleeds will be sold at around $200.

Manny Pacquiao’s lopsided decision victory against Shane Mosley on May 7 generated more than 1.3 million pay-per-view buys and ringside tickets sold for $1,000. Pacquiao’s previous best pay-per-view total was the 1.25 million generated by his eighth-round knockout of Oscar De La Hoya and was Pacquiao’s second most expensive ringside tickets he ever sold at $1,500.

Arum said Pacquiao-Mosley generated more than $75 million in television revenue with about 700,000 buys coming via cable systems and about 600,000 coming from satellite services and generated a live gate of $8,882,600, the 14th-highest gross in Nevada history from 15,422 tickets sold.

Arum expects a sellout and is confident that it will make a killing in the pay-per-view owing to the controversial that exists between Pacquiao and Marquez.

  1. Oh Boy! @ Adrian you winges about the PPV price and the ticket of Pacman and JJM you probably need to ask your self who these people are. If they were bus driver or trans drivers to fight yeah who would pay that much? But hey people who will be going inside the arena will be rich people anyways. If you don’t wanna pay the PPV it is your choice no one is pushing you. Go and watch it free on streaming that is very slow. Why don’t you come up with inviting your friends and chip in for the cost of PPV lol. This fights don’t come everyday.

  3. this comment is for linda, i disagree your comments about pacquioa and marquez fight coming up in november 12 2011. pacquioa dont ask for this fight, is marquez who wants the fight, because he never shut his mouth, If pacquioa wont fight then the people said oh pacquoia is scared, too much balooney.Its really hard to everybody happy. Pacquioa wants to fight mayweaterh too excuses too much bulhsit.   5. All of you are crazy. Marquez has been the toughest fighter Manny has ever fought, any in many peoples opinions including myself Marquez won both previous fights even after being knocked down. Marquez has a lot of HEART, SKILL, and DETERMINATION. This will be for sure another 12 round blood bath. great for boxing. Mayweather and Pacquiao fight will be good for the sport but mayweatyher fights are so boring and frustrating. I would much rather see Marquez/Pacquiao.

  8. Ticket prices are a little high, Manny should step in and insist that the cheap seats stay at a reasonable price. Good fights are few and far between now, Manny Pacquiao doesn’t disappoint, so promoters can be greedy. This kind of greed is continuing to kill this wonderful sport. Instead of just whining about it and “Oh, I’ll watch it free and rip off whoever bought the rights to the pay per view”,write to Arum and the other greedy guts and tell them!

  10. This is more heavier weight class and Marquez will slowdown. Pacquaio on the other hand will be more heavier in punch, more comfortable in weight and Marquez will go down again in early rounds and may not get up again. So, there will be no more controversy. ;(

  11. These prices r bullshit. This is why I watch all ppv fights online for free. You pay all that hard earned money and 90% of the undercards suck then the main event is garbage ( pacman vs Shane) but u still have to pay the high ppv or ticket prices. I love boxing but I think like everything else these days the sport is lead by greed instead of a true love for the fight game. Bob arums greedy ass needs to go along with dk and all the other greedy fools. The fighters need to wake up to and realize that they make it impossible for the average fight fan to go to a live fight and ordering a $65 ppv fight is hard too. stop with the bullshit!!!

  12. I can understand why this will be such a big draw for fans, except that the fact here is that this time Pacquiao has a much easier fight than their previous ones. Pacquiao, unanimous decision or late round stoppage.
