James Kirkland is scheduled to fight Mexican Carlos “King” Molina (19-4-2, 6 KOs) in a 12-round light middleweight on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Reliant Arena in Houston, Texas part of the Erik Morales vs Danny Garcia main event.

Molina is coming off a lopsided unanimous decision win over Kermit Cintron in July 2011. Kirkland has established himself again as top 154 lb contender after his win over Angulo. Note: The fight card was originally scheduled for January 28th but Erik Morales who is headlining the card in a fight against Danny Garcia had emergency gallbladder surgery and needed time to recover.

All tickets for the January 28th date will be honored for the new March 24th date.

  1. I got one small problem with this fight. I like Molina to win a UD after some shaky moments, but as we’ve seen in Texas lately, some judges scoring doesn’t really seem to reflect what actually happened in the ring. And since Kirkland is from Texas, I’m staying away from bets on this one. Great matchmaking though, looking foreword to it.

  2. I like Kirkland as well but I’m going with Molina to pull off the upset. I think he will use the aggression of Kirkland to set up a K.O. Of course Kirkland does have the power to take Molina out and looked like a beast last time out, I’m a little conflicted but I’m going to place my bet on Molina.

  3. I like James I think he is a good fighter ..with a little more work in the gym ..I think he will be a great fighter the guy has a ton of heart and that’s half the battle in the ring …the other half is skill and dedication ..good luck tO James ….
