Losing hope on Timothy Bradley

I hate to be so negative and I always love a good underdog story but lately I have lost all interest in the upcoming fight between Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley Jr. Earlier this week Bradley hosted a media workout in Hollywood, CA. You know when there’s a camera present you tend to show off your best moves to look good and hype your fight but Bradley did the complete opposite.

In this video you see Bradley and his trainer working with a speed ball to test Bradley’s reflexes and defense. Instead you see a huge George Lopez head being hit with the ball the entire time…All kidding aside, no. Just no. This is fucking embarrassing.

If I had a ticket to see this fight I would have ripped it up out of sympathy shame. Bradley looks slow and can’t move for crap. How does he expect to dodge one of Pacquiao power punches?

My biggest gripe watching this video is how in the world does he expect to win? It’s like watching your dad awkwardly try to rock out to popular music with his hat turned backwards and flashing the peace sign because he’s confusing it with the “Westsiiiiiide” gesture.

I am sorry Bradley, I did try to give you the benefit of the doubt. In a brighter note, I respect Bradley for manning up and taking care of two kids that aren’t yours. It takes a real man to do that.

Timothy Bradley was working as a dish washer at a Coco’s restaurant before becoming a waiter at a Mimi’s Café. Soon thereafter he quit his job to marry his middle school friend, Monica Manzo, after she became a divorced mother of two.

Like Monica said during the 24/7: Road to Pacquiao/Bradley, “It’s rare to find a 23-year-old who so willingly took on the responsibility of two children in a new relationship,” Monica Bradley said. “But it was like, right away, he fell in love with those kids. He would play with them and just wanted to be with them.”

I can’t say many men will take on such responsibility, for that I respect you. Come June 9, are we going to wittiness another remake of Ricky Hatton vs Manny Pacquiao or Joshua Clottey against Pacquiao?

What ever it might be, good luck Bradley you will need it.

  1. pacquiao will destroy timothy bradley who i really like but hes in with a bad dude … bet it dosent go 6rds

  2. A lot of the workout footage I see of Bradley involves weight lifting of some kind. He’s got guns, but I’m not so sure that’s gonna help after moving up to welterweight & fighting Manny. Seems like speed would be more an asset come fight night. Bradley’s a confident, undefeated world champ, but I think Manny will figure him out in a couple of rounds and stop him in 5-6 one sided rounds.

  3. I’ll pay to see this fight, simply because Manny doesn’t dodge anyone and Bradley has a lot to fight for. And this fight with Manny is a dream come true. I hope he puts up a great fight. It will all depend upon his heart and motivation. This fight will also show the level where Manny is currently at, showing whether or not he’s lost his edge. Something that Floyd Mayweather should be concerned about, because Manny will retire once that happens, and Floyd will not be given another chance to put his perfect record up against the best, which will serve to do more harm than a lost to Manny, because he failed to face his greatest challange.

  4. You just never know, until they step into that ring. Bradley might suprize the world by stopping Pacquiao. It will depend greatly on how he takes everything that Manny can dish out on that night. Timothy has a record inclusive of some hard hitting fighters.

  5. We all have seen Floyd mayweather training his able to be on his cell phone while hitting the speed bag and not missing a beat.

I honestly dont know who will pay for this.

  6. I had no interest in this fight from the time it was mentioned, I knew Bradley would be easily beaten by Pacquiao. Bradley has descent speed, light power and no footwork he just rushes his opponent and eventually lands a headbutt or two. That just spells trouble for him as Pacquiao is both much faster and hits much harder. If Bradley doesn’t make it a snoozer (which he usually does) then he wont make it 6 rounds. If he somehow wins I will be shocked but I just don’t see it happening. I can give him credit for being a stand-up type of guy, he is doing something most guys wont and obviously doing a good job because those kids have strong feelings for him. A great person but only a good (not great) fighter.
