Hector Camacho Shot and Killed

Hector “Macho” Camacho was rush to San Pablo Hospital in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, Tuesday night, November 19, 2012, after he was shot in the jaw fracturing his vertebrae and was lodged in his shoulder while sitting in the passenger sit of a black Ford Mustang. His friend, driver, Adrian Mojica Moreno, was also shot and killed. Police said Mojica had nine small bags of cocaine in his pocket and a 10th bag was found open in the car. According to multiple sources another vehicle rolled up and opened fire striking the boxing ledged near by Highway 167 in Bayamón around 7PM.

Hector “Macho” Camacho was declared dead on Saturday 1:40 AM, four days after being shot. He suffered a heart attack and died short time later after being taken off life support. He was 50-years-old.

It’s unclear if police have identified any suspects.

Hector Camacho Sr. was one of the best in boxing in the 80′s and the 90′s. He had an outstanding record of (79-6-3). The former world champion’s last fight was in 2010.

His son, Hector Camacho Jr., has recently been in training for his upcoming fight on December 13 against Alejandro “El Elegido” Barrea. At this time we send our thoughts and prayers to be with the entire Camacho family, and will update this story as soon as additional information becomes available.

  1. Still a loss, he still would be miss by his family!! All of us do good things and bad thinks. Let the person to rest and peace and the family to comfort and remember the good moments. Lets remember the fighter history, that at the end that his best legagy for us.
