They say “Age waits for no Man” Viloria at 31 understands he is not getting any younger and he has been through the downs in his career with defeats. But recently, Viloria the former U.S. Olympian has been on a hiatus his career. People have described him as “dangerous” in the ring and lives up to his nickname “Hawaiian Punch”. Next Saturday the much awaited unification fight between the reigning WBO flyweight Champion will take on the reigning WBA Champion Hernan “Tyson” Marquez. This is going to be fireworks for the expected thousands at the LA Sports Arena and a fight that will not be unnoticed for the lower weight division. After a training session yesterday working with Marvin Somodio (dubbed as Freddie Roach’s prodigy). Brian took some time to talk with me about his upcoming bout.

Q. Has your latest resurgence been in part to working with Freddie Roach at Wild Card?

Viloria: Freddie hasn’t been training me but he’s been watching and analyzing Marquez’s fights; which he’s given me great advice on.

Q. How was sparring with Bruno Escalante? Do you see a bright future for him?

Viloria: It’s been great, he’s from Hawaii as well and I’m trying to help him get a fight for November 17 on this card. He’s one of those fighters who need the right people behind him and right promotion and you’ll see him on the way to the top. He has great potential.

Q. You’ve had success against Mexican fighters like Nino, Solis, and Segura. What do you attribute that to?

Viloria: No secrets, just hard work, training hard, refocusing myself, having to zero in and taking in one fight at a time. I have a great team.

Q: Do you think since you’ve trained with Robert Garcia and now he’s currently training Marquez that could be an advantage to Marquez?

Viloria: No, I am a completely different fighter than what I was years ago. I’ve corrected the things I needed to correct as far as my style goes and being physically and mentally in shape. I think they’ll be in for a surprise fight night.

Q. And if successful against Marquez, do you have any interest in a rematch with Edgar Sosa, the last Mexican to defeat?

Brian: My focus is on Marquez, and right now I’m solely focused on winning this fight.
In my opinion Viloria has underrated technical skills and a good chin, he can take big punches and his counter hooks have been a deadly weapon. I expect war fight night but I don’t see Marquez stopping

Viloria. I’m predicting Viloria by brutal KO RD 5.
