Word is Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (42-1-1, 30 KO’s) will be fighting #7 WBA Alfredo Angulo (22-3, 18 KO’s) on March 8th on Showtime pay-per-view at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Both guys are coming off of losses and no titles will be on the line. Canelo lost to Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Angulo essentially quit in his last fight against Erislandy Lara.
Canelo says the card will also feature his brother, Ricardo Alvarez against WBC interim-lightweight champion, Omar “Panterita” Figueroa.
Personally I think Canelo will take Alfredo “El Perro” for a walk. This fight is not pay-per-view worthy.
Canelo vs Miguel Cotto, what happen?
Miguel Cotto turned down a $10 million dollar offer to face “Canelo” instead Cotto will face Sergio Martinez on June 7 for a lot less money on HBO PPV. The fight will take place on the weekend of the Puerto Rican Day parade in New York.
