The “Chatter Box” is spreading the word about THIS weekend’s 11th Annual The FitExpo Southern California taking place at the Los Angeles Convention Center in downtown L.A. This year’s event is going down Saturday and Sunday, January 25-26, 2014.

This January show is great for men and women of all ages who want to meet their favorite fighters, check out the latest fitness crazes, and learn more about a healthy lifestyle.

I’ve attended the gathering several times now and it’s always an action-packed convention where fans can meet various sports celebrities, athletes and fitness models, participate in workout classes, seminars and competitions, see tons of exhibits, load up on free samples, and see new, innovative products revealed at the expo! All under one roof.

For those of you who want to keep your New Year’s resolutions in getting in shape or staying in shape, this is the place to be.

For fight fans who love boxing, MMA, combat sports and more, there are always a ton of familiar faces at the exhibit booths and on stage.

The couple of years have featured guest appearances by “Iron” Mike Tyson, Victor Ortiz, UFC superstar Ronda Rousey, fighters Tito Ortiz, Ken Shamrock, Marcus Kowal, Glendale Fighting Club’s Edmond Tarverdyan, fighter/referee Larry Landless, Eric the Trainer (who works with many boxers), Island Boost reps (energy drink for fighters including slugger Ruslan Provodnikov), and many more. You never know who you’ll run into at this fitness bash.

There will be plenty of combat demos, testing of the latest gloves, wraps, and bags and even a jump rope championship if you want to show off your fancy footwork. Roaming the aisles, attendees can try out state-of-the-art gym equipment, try on the coolest workout gear and sample the tastiest treats for athletes of all levels.

And the range of athletes, celebrities, trainers and fighters who you can meet is everyone from A-Z. Some of the celebrities scheduled to take part in this 2014 show will be Tito Ortiz, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Lou Ferrigno, Jillian Michaels, Fabricio Werdum, Cung Le, Mark Munoz, referee Herb Dean, Phil Heath, Eric the Trainer, Ernie Reyes Jr., Savant Young, Roland Kickinger, Jay Cutler, Ronnie Coleman and many, many more.

One boxing aficionado who will be attending this year is the Fight Academy’s Savant “Black Superman” Young. He and his team are looking forward to this weekend’s show.

Young will be there to discuss the California State Athletic Commission’s sanctioning with youth combat sports. Savant is a veteran of the fight game and well-respected in the community. As a current pro fighter, trainer and promoter, Young will be showcasing some of his young athletes at The FitExpo.

“We will be doing a demo showing the rules and format of the United States Fight League (USFL),” the Pasadena coach told me.

Savant’s 12-year-old son is an amateur boxer, following in dad’s footsteps at Young’s Fight Academy Gym where several prizefighters are currently training.

Never too young to learn from the best, kids, teens and adults of all ages will converge at this year’s The FitExpo.

Don’t miss out on a KO day with some of the brightest stars in the fight game!
