Boxing Champs to Attend LA Event

The “Chatter Box” wants to spread the word about a special boxing event NEXT Wednesday, October 22 at the legendary Mayan Theater in downtown Los Angeles. This star-studded gala is for the exciting new film “El Boxeo” by director Alan Swyer. This boxing documentary features the rise of the Latinos in the boxing world. Many champs and familiar faces in the sport are showcased in the movie.ElBoxeoScreen

And now is YOUR chance to be part of a VIP red-carpet screening gala with several champions and prizefighters in attendance at this highly-anticipated “El Boxeo” Charity Screening presented by the Pepperdine Hispanic Alumni Council. Besides the screening of the film, ticket holders will also enjoy a Q&A session with the fighters, a silent auction, a prize raffle and more. See the boxing stars up close and bump fists with your favorite champs.

Don’t miss out!

The tickets are at a reasonable price and you will help contribute to those in the community who need assistance )with the proceeds going to scholarship opportunities for Latino students). Mingle with the champs while helping out a worthwhile cause. I say that’s a one-two winning combination. Ticket begin at just 20.00 and can also be purchased at the door while seats are available. But I encourage you to get your tickets in advance so you won’t be left out of what will be a memorable evening with the boxers.

Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini, Mia St. John, Israel Vazquez, Gabriel Ruelas, Rafael Ruelas, Carlos Palomino, Rodolfo Gonzalez, Paul Gonzales, Mando Muniz, Alex Ramos, Oscar Godoy, Ramon Cardenas, Carlos “Macho” Lopez, John Bray, Rick Farris, Rudy Hernandez, Dr. Robert Karns, the Supreme Boxing team, WBC representatives and more are scheduled to attend. There will also be surprise guests arriving at the gathering!

Today at the Gennady Golovkin-Marco Antonio Rubio press conference, I caught up with two of the key organizers of the fundraising event, Christopher Garcia (who studied at Pepperdine) and filmmaker Alan Swyer. I had a great time chatting with them and I could really feel their enthusiasm about Wednesday’s bash. Chris and Alan are looking forward to a fantastic night at this special fundraiser. Both men believe in this collaboration 101%. Garcia wants to give back to fellow students and is helping others to get scholarships for their higher education while Swyer has done an admirable job in honoring the Latino warriors in the fight game who have become champions in and out of the ring. “El Boxeo” was chosen in several 2013 film selection categories and continues to generate a buzz in boxing circles.

And now you have the opportunity to see this boxing documentary with the sluggers themselves!

A red carpet event, silent auction, panel discussion and film screening during Wednesday’s “El Boxeo” gala sounds like a championship night to me.

Popular champ Mia St. John told me she’s looking forward to next week’s screening. And if you want to meet the WBC champ and Playboy model, now’s your chance. Mia and a pound-for-pound group of fighters and champions will be at this “El Boxeo” event. She wants all the boxing fans to join her and the boxing heroes at Wednesday’s screening party.

DON’T MISS OUT! A KO good time come Wednesday night.
