Live Boxing with All Star Promotions

Hands will be thrown THIS Friday, October 7 at the Quiet Cannon Country Club in Montebello as All Star Promotions presents an action-packed night of ten scheduled bouts of live boxing.

“Battle of the Rising Stars” (promoted by All Star Promotions in association with the United Boxing Academy) will feature a matchup between Jaime (Fabian) Ocegueda vs. Ricardo Maldonado. The unbeaten “El Maldito” Ocegueda is making a highly-anticipated return to the ring in what should be an exciting night. Also on the stacked card are local heroes Joshua Zuniga, Jarret Jeter, Julian Rodarte, Sergio Quiroz, and more.

Longtime promoter Ed Holmes and noted matchmaker Eddie Rodriguez Sr. promise a night of fireworks come Friday night. The Quiet Cannon is a lively, fun venue with a popular outdoor patio where spectators can enjoy fresh nachos and a taco bar.

Local club shows such as these give fresh young talent a chance to shine; an opportunity to move up the ranks and get a solid fan base behind them. These hungry young lions give it all they’ve got and many boxing fans have told me they’ve seen better fights at All Star shows than on some Pay-Per-View broadcasts! In their last installment, the onlookers watched on as Francisco “El Diamante” Ochoa scored a KO win over Oscar Quezada for the vacant USA California State Lightweight championship belt.

These Friday night fights are a great way to start the weekend and an added bonus for the crowd is being able to meet some famous faces seated ringside.

CHECK OUT SOME SNAPSHOTS FROM A RECENT QUIET CANNON SHOW…You never know who’s going to show up at the Quiet Cannon! All Star’s last show had a slew of familiar mugs spotted in the audience including “Ferocious” Fernando Vargas, WBC International Female Super Middleweight champ Maricela “La Diva” Cornejo (also fighting October at the Belasco Theater), World Boxing Council (WBC) Senior Executive Director Nancy Rodriguez, rising pro Angel Bojado, actor/musician Frank Stallone, pro boxer Cristian Silva, Team USA boxer Jonathan “El Diamante” Esquivel from Anaheim, 17-year-old amateur champ Oscar Chavez (who is turning pro soon), among others. The attendees got to take tons of selfies with these celebs on the scene. There’s always surprise guests and VIPs sprinkled in the audience.

And there will be fiery matches taking place in the ring; the matchups promise to be competitive with some all-out wars between the young warriors.

Matchmaker Eddie Rodriguez says the fans will definitely enjoy plenty of fisticuffs. “I’m looking forward to seeing lots of action and crowd pleasing fights,” he told me a few hours before today’s weigh-in.

Don’t miss out on this All Star show–the action goes down Friday, October 7!
