In the supporting fight to Marcos Maidana-Devon Alexander, Adrien Broner faces off against Eloy Perez. Perez-Broner is 12 round fight with the WBO Super Featherweight title on the line as well as each contestant’s undefeated record. Broner, who has two devastating knockouts on HBO, is known for his slick style and quick hands. Perez, who has 23 wins with 7 knockouts, is less known around the globe.

His resume does not boast as many high quality opponents as Broner, yet Perez still brings a lot to the ring. Perez is a quality fighter who knows how to put together combinations and is not too timid to engage. Broner is slick and has skills that Perez has not yet seen.

This is an interesting matchup. I personally believe Broner is a very gifted boxer and will be able to knockout Perez. I rarely predict knockouts when one fighter has shown a good chin, but I think Broner has the ability and accuracy to pick apart and take out Perez.

When listening to Perez’s corner in past fights, one can often hear his corner telling him to relax and calm down. When the lights are shining and the camera is on, will Perez be able to handle it?

Broner has experience, and seems to love the limelight. Based on those facts, I think he will be the winner.

  1. I’m still having some trouble deciding on this and the Maidana/Alexander fight. So far I think I will be going with Broner to win, he’s talented, as long as he does not come in overconfident in his abilities he can win this fight. The one thing I can say is Perez is such a live dog (can not call him an underdog here) which is making my decision very difficult. The only concern I have about Alexander vs. Maidana is the judges we all know in St. Louis you don’t get decision victories over Alexander. (Who should really have 3 losses on his record) So far I think I’m going Broner by decision and Maidana by KO. I will be placing my bets soon. @ Edgar, I agree Garcia is on his way to being the next Roach he’s got some talented fighters under him who I believe he connects with very well.

  2. I place 500 on Perez.. only because his with Robert Garcia. We all know Garcia is becoming the next Freddie Roach…
