Adams faces Serhii Bohachuk in Rematch
The boxing world will be watching this Saturday, September 13 when Canelo Alvarez faces Terence “Bud” Crawford in Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium.
Featured on the undercard is a long-anticipated rematch between Brandon “The Cannon” Adams (25-4, 16 KOs) and Serhii Bohachuk (26-2, 24 KOs). Their 10-round showdown will be on the prelims steaming live on YouTube. The fighters weighed in today with Adams coming in at 156 pounds to Bohachuk’s 155 pounds.
Earlier this month, I got to watch Adams train and spar as his fight date approached. The Season 5 winner of “The Contender” series has his own gym but on the days I visited, the athlete was training out of the private DMG Boxing Gym in Orange County.

Bohachuk vs. Adams 1 took place in 2021 in Puerto Rico in which Adams won by TKO. Bohachuk was ahead on all score cards at the time of the stoppage. And fast forward four years later, Serhii is seeking revenge for his loss. Adams may once again be the underdog, but the pugilist is ready for battle and gunning for another win.
In the gym, Adams keeps things relaxed with his team. But once in the ring, he’s all business. The former champion is hungry for a big win on Saturday and his team says a victory puts him right back where he needs to be. In his corner is noted trainer Trevor Sambrano, cornerman Zo Gueche, manager Mark Habibi (Fightbook, Wise Owl Boxing), among others. Sparring partner Sergio “Surge” Jimenez was also in the gym while I was there along with Adams’ Lawrence King and Will Simpson.
The Los Angeles boxer began his professional career after being spotted by the legendary boxing coach Dub Huntley. He didn’t have a massive amateur career, but immediately took to pro boxing. Now Adams, 36, will once again lock horns with his Ukrainian foe Bohachuk, 30 on the grand stage of Canelo-Crawford (airing live on Netflix). This desert showdown promises to be an entertaining matchup as both pugilists will be fighting for this all-important W.
After Adams’ sparring sessions, the L.A. fighter cooled things down by dancing and joking around with everyone. Outside the ring, Brandon is known for his colorful outfits, his huge love of anime and his friendly personality.
Inside the ropes, he’s fought the likes of Jermall Charlo, Shane Mosley Jr., Vito Gasparyan, Tyrone Brunson, Willie Monroe Jr., etc.
And now on Saturday night, he will once again go toe to toe against nemesis Serhii Bohachuk.
Don’t miss their war on September 13!
