Busy weekend for the Cornerman/Event Producer

Southern California’s Hervi Estrada was invited to be inducted into the WBC Legends of Boxing this Sunday, October 18 at Cancun Ole in Los Angeles, Calif. The Induction Ceremony and Luncheon will also honor the 2026 inductees including Paul Banke, the Weaver Triplets, Greg Puente, Jacob “Stitch” Duran, Jimmy Gambina, Dick Young and more.
Hervi is one of the busiest boxing veterans in the sport. Through the decades he has worked as a cutman, matchmaker, fight promoter, gym owner, trainer, and event producer currently working with TGB Promotions and Premier Boxing Champions (PBC). He is thrilled to be included in the WBC Legends of Boxing roster but this time he will not be able to attend in person. Hervi is part of Team Fundora and WBC champ Sebastian Fundora will be fighting Ermal Hadribeaj on Saturday, October 17 in Las Vegas and the crew will still be in Vegas through the weekend.
I caught up with Hervi to hear his thoughts about his latest honor, who he’d personally like to thank and which boxing champ will accept his award for him?
Michele Chong: Hi Hervi, congrats on your newest honor! What are your thoughts about your upcoming award?Hervi Estrada: I think it another super cool surprise! Just like the National Boxing Hall of Fame (NBHOF), I wasn’t expecting that at all! I really appreciate the fact that the others see what I really do out there (as far as my job goes) because in reality I don’t see or ever think that I deserve anything like that. To me it’s just a job, but it says a lot when others thank me for what I do.
MC: The event is the same weekend as the Sebastian Fundora fight. You will be in Sebastian’s corner this weekend?
HE: Yes, that’s the reason why I can’t attend the WBC Induction. It’s time for Sebastian Fundora to shine once again, and on top of that it’s my job at PBC and TGB to make sure that everything goes as smooth as possible on fight night! Viva Las Vegas!!!

MC: You will have a great weekend. And who would you like to thank in accepting this award?
HE: I would like to thank Dr. Rudy Tellez and ALL who are involved in this beautiful induction. AND I must NOT forget to thank the WBC and the whole Sulaiman family for always been there not only for me but for everyone else as well. Mauricio and Pepe Sulaiman are such of caring people just like their father was. And not to mention that every time they see you they receive you with such a beautiful smile!
I know that in the WBC here in California they are many names to mention but please accept my appreciation from the bottom of my heart and thank you for everything you all do to keep this amazing work rolling!
MC: Congratulations again, Hervi! Well deserved. You are one of the busiest guys in the sport and you are always supportive in boxing circles.
HE: Michele, thank you too for everything that you do for our beautiful sport, you and my boy Steve are always there for all of us at any time and for that you guys deserve every single award out there!MC: Thanks, Hervi! And come Sunday, you have asked another of the inductees to accept your award?
HE: Yes, my super cool friend and WBC World Champion Mr. Paul Banke will be accepting my awards on that day and giving a small shout out on my behalf. Thanks again to everyone!
